1000 reasons why Rose>Conley
BY MERRITT ANDERSON ON OCTOBER 10, 2014
There are, in fact, over 1,000 reasons that Rose is better than Conley, but we do not have room for all of that, so here are just a few.
Starting off, academically, Rose soars above Conley. Rumor has it that in 2010 while Carolina accepted 40 students from Rose, only four were accepted from Conley. Rose, having a smaller population than Conley, still provides a much wider range of classes. We have 23 AP courses while Conley only has 12. Though they may call us a “rich kid school,” our “rich parents” come in handy, providing the school with much support in academics and athletics.
Rose has obviously proven that we are the better sports school as well, beating Conley not only on the volleyball court this season, but the football field as well. Throughout rivalry history Rose has won many more state and conference titles than Conley ever has. Rose also offers a wider range of extracurriculars, making our school much more well-rounded. Rose offers more to its students than Conley ever has or ever will.
Another common stereotype thrust upon the Rose students by Conley is that we are a “party school.” Funny, because I’m pretty sure it was a Conley girl that brought a twelve pack to school and got “turnt” before class. But hey, maybe if we lived in the middle of nowhere we would need to be entertained by doing dumb stuff too. Making fun of us for having “get togethers” isn’t an insult. At least we have somewhere to go on the weekends and don’t sit in the Sonic parking lot.
The list just goes on and on, but no matter how you look at it, Rose always comes out on top.
