KEYWORD
Pinterest CraftBY SCARLETT ANTHONY ON December 19, 2013
During the holiday season, Pinterest is overflowing with DIY crafts for all different decorations. Some are more complicated than others, but there are so many options to choose from. I found out many of the craft ideas do not have directions and are just a picture of the finished product, which is harder to make. After scrolling through holiday craft Pinterest boards, I decided to make two different ornaments.
The first one I made was a lightbulb that turned into a penguin ornament. This project did not have directions but it seemed relatively easy. I started off by painting the ornament but soon found out it was a two person job. One person has to hold the light bulb while the other paints it, or it is nearly impossible. I had to hold it for a good thirty minutes while it dried before I could paint the face of the penguin on it. After it was finished drying, I attached ribbon to the top using hot glue, and it turned out great. A snowman family ornament was the second craft I made from Pinterest. I used a large, plain red ornament ball and tied ribbon through the loop at the top. My entire hand was painted white, and I positioned it towards the bottom of the ball as I put my hand on it. When I lifted my hand up, the “snowballs” that were made from my fingers were not very round. I used a small paint brush to touch them up and filled in parts that were not filled in with paint. The little snowman family was almost complete as I added faces, buttons and hats to the snowmen with a sharpie marker after the paint dried completely. The two holiday ornaments from Pinterest were not difficult but required two sets of hands. Thousands of holiday boards have great craft ideas for the holidays. What are you waiting for?
