Running is a really wonderful thing

Legs aching, lungs burning and sweat dripping. Running may not be pretty, however, it is beautiful.
It is often said that laughter is the best medicine. While, yes, laughter is nice, running is a drug in a league of its own. Nothing other than running can make exhuastion and pain feel so good.
After a long day of being cooped up in a desk at school, going for a run around the neighborhood can feel like breaking out of a cage. Getting the heart racing and blood flowing is the perfect way to unwind between a stressful school day and an evening of homework.
Most people hate running. True, it is tiring and it is hard. Running is like any sport; it takes practice. Nobody gets better at anything without effort, and running is no exception.
However, unlike most sports, running can be done completely on your own. It requires no assistance and no equiptment. All a runner needs is a pair of sneakers as well as some time and space.
Running is the ideal workout because it requires so little and it is so rewarding. Whether running five miles or alternating walking and running for just thirty minutes, you are getting a workout.
Many people may think of running as a punishment or chore, but when one truly experiences the joy of a easy jog, there is no denying that running is a wonderful thing.
Running is the best stress reliever. This is why we refer to it as a drug in a league of its own. Whatever might be on your mind can be taken away or eased while running. It is true that sometimes we dread the thought of running but once we tie our shoes and step foot on the concrete, it is clear that the run will be worth it.
Like anything else that is involved in a routine, it can grow old. However, nothing rests the mind and works the body like a nice run. Running is something that you do for yourself, not for anyone else.
Unlike team sports and other activities that are done for the benefit of other people as well, running is done for the self. It takes a lot of self-motivation to run and let go of your problems for an hour or so out of your day. While running, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are not important. Who said what at school that day doesn’t cross your mind. All that is with you while running is what is going on in your life. It isn’t a time to worry about everyone else, and this is why running is such a special activity. Sure, running gives you the time necessary to think about problems, but it also lets you set those problems free and focus on you.
