We Guarantee Goosebumps

Insidious: proceeding in a gradual, subtle way, but with harmful effects. Ironically, insidious is one thing this movie is not. Right from the get-go the movie picked up speed and never slowed down. This is not one of your stereotypical horror movies with no plot line and only the intent to scare your socks off.
Insidious 2 centers around the childhood mysteries of the Lambert family. The Lambert family is dangerously connected to the further, or spirit world. Both Josh and his son, Dalton, are strangely endowed with the ability to leave their bodies as spirits while sleeping. It is this ability that causes many problems for the entire family. These problems include malevolent spirits, parasitic ghosts, possessive demons and murderous entities.
We all remember the original Insidious: Dalton goes into a coma, a demon attacks and tries to possess Dalton, but his father, Josh, saves him and brings him back from the further. The first Insidious ends with a cliffhanger. It leaves you wondering who came back from the further, Josh or the Bride in Black.
Insidious 2 perfectly ties the two movies together. It answers many questions that had arisen from the first movie while keeping an interesting and fresh new story line. Insidious 2 switches back and forth between the present and Josh’s childhood. James Wan, the director, did a phenomenal job of putting the story together. Movies that switch between the past and present are tricky because they can become chronologically confusing that you begin to visualize the story as one big pile of disjointed subplots. The way Wan positioned the setting changes in the movie allows for the story to grow and develop as a single, unified masterpiece. This also allows for a great deal of character and plot development.
If you are into horror movies, Insidious 2 is definitely a good choice. Insidious 2 has it all; haunting-terror to goosebump-inducing-freaky to jump-out-of-your-seat-and-scream. I had goosebumps for over half of the movie. Insidious 2 incorporates a good balance of suspense and jump out terror that keeps you on your toes. Don’t drink any water before watching Insidious 2, you may lose it halfway through.
